Pastoral Council

PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERS

Robert Stinger - President:

Robert was born and raised in Arizona and was baptized at St Francis Church in Phoenix.  He is a graduate of Arizona State University in Marketing and have always worked in the fields of Sales and Senior Management.  His children received all of their Sacraments from our Parish and both are Captains as Altar Servers; Rio serving the Latin Mass since its inception and plays drums in the Church band.  Karilee is an RCIA Graduate from All Saints and serves as a Eucharistic Minister.  He was blessed to part of the Capital Campaign and the Church Design Committee to help bring our incredible new Church to fruition.  Robert is a Lector and began his service on the Pastoral Council in October 2012.

Al Muglia – Vice-President:

Al Muglia is originally from Plainfield New Jersey.  After spending 4 years in the Navy, he met his wife in 1961.  They got married in Washington DC, had 4 children. After working 30 years for IBM they finally settled down in Arizona in 1973. Al is very active in the Knights of Columbus.  Al and his wife Arlene can frequently be found serving doughnuts on Sunday mornings after Mass. He is an Eucharistic minister on Sundays and weekdays and his wife is a usher/greeter at All Saints Church.

Mary Behr – Secretary:

Mary was born and grew up in Elmira, New York.  She attended nursing school at Corning Community College and after graduation worked at a hospital in Syracuse, New York while studying for her Bachelor’s degree in nursing.  She entered the Air Force where she met her husband Stephen.  They are both now retired from the Air Force and moved to Mesa in 2006.  Mary worked as a nurse case manager for Tricare and retired in 2013.  She volunteers at the Desert Botanical Garden and as a nurse for the Mission of Mercy clinics.  She and Stephen have been members of the parish since 2006.  Mary is an Eucharistic Minister, a substitute adorer and has been involved in the spirituality series since its inception.  She is a new member of the Parish Council.

 

Cliff Baker – member:

Cliff Baker grew up in Northern California.  At 17 he joined the Navy and retired 23 years later in 1994.  Cliff is corporate counsel for Sundt Construction in Tempe.  He and his wife, Acela, moved to Mesa from the San Francisco Bay area in 2007 and joined All Saints Parish.  His wife was born and raised in the Philippines.  Cliff joined the parish council in Jan 2014; previously he served on the Building Committee. He serves as an EM and is involved with the Ministry of Care at Banner Baywood Medical Center.  Cliff is an active 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and is a member of the men's fellowship ministry.  Cliff and Acela support several veterans groups and Catholic charities in the U.S. and the Philippines.

Dan Castillo – member:

Dan Castillo and his family has been a member at All Saints Parish Community since 1994 (on and off).  Dan is a committed member of our parish laity that over the last 4-5 years that is actively involved with the Men’s Ministry, Knights of Columbus and Pastoral Council.  Dan is happily married to his beautiful wife Juliet for 33 years and is a proud father of a son and daughter, Derrick and Parris.  When Dan is not busy working, Dan is a passionate chef, avid grill master and connoisseur of good food. Dan is devoted to his relationship with God and the building of our parish community.  “I think of myself normally as a shy person, but have been given the courage to stand for the Lord, like a roaring Chihuahua.”

Indu Chatham – member:

Born and raised in India, Indu moved to the United States in 1999. She found her way to Mesa, AZ in 2003 with her husband and 2 children. She became a parishioner at All Saints in order to be able to have her third baby baptized in 2004. Having had quite the nomadic childhood, she finally felt like she belonged to a real parish when she joined this church. Although trained as a lawyer in India, she chose to stay home with her kids in their formative years. However as soon as they all started school, she began to attend daily mass whenever possible. She is now a lector, Eucharistic minister and a member of the choir at All Saints. Her interests include cooking, fashion and interior design(basically anything that uses the creative side of her brain). She became a proud member of the Pastoral Council in July 2014 and is also serving in the Outreach committee which is a sub committee of the Pastoral council. She is happiest when sharing her love for Jesus with the world!

Benedict Dayrit – member:
Benedict Dayrit was born and raised in the Philippines. He migrated to the United States after he and his wife, Theresa, finished medical school at the University of Santo Tomas. He finished residency training at  Ohio State University Hospital in 1993. He later moved to Arizona in 1995 after staying a few years in Illinois. He and his family have been parishioners of All Saints since 1998 and currently in private practice with his wife, Theresa. They are blessed with three children: Dominique, Patrick, and Anna Therese.

Jim Ness – member:

James J. Ness, Ph.D. has been a member of All Saints Parish since 2003 and is currently an EM, Adorer and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is currently the Vice President for Educational Programs for International Police Training and Consulting Services.   He was formerly the Founding Dean of the College of Criminal Justice and Security at the University of Phoenix.  Dr. Ness is also currently a graduate faculty member at the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Ness has had a long and successful career in academe and government service. Prior government service includes Chief of Specialized Training for the Kosovo Police Service School. He also served with other State Department missions as the Station Chief for the International Police Task Force in Tuzla, Bosnia-Herzegovina and as Dean of Academics for the Haitian National Police Training Center in Haiti. He has conducted national research on Police Executives, School Executives, and Basic Police Training and Police Personnel Practices.
Previous professional and academic service includes Director of Criminal Justice Programs at Barton County Community College, Tenured Professor of Law Enforcement at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Police Chief City of Villa Grove, IL, as well as investigator and undercover narcotics investigator police supervisor and military service.
He has a BA from Northeastern Illinois University, MS in Law Enforcement from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale He has published extensively in the area of areas of law enforcement and national security.

Italo Pennella – member:

Italo Pennella was born and raised in Oklahoma.  He obtained degrees in Chemistry and Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma and moved to Arizona in 1996.  Italo and his wife, Kim, have been All Saints Parishioners since 1999.  Italo joined the parish council in Jan 2014.  His 3 children, Italo Jr., Isabella and Sabrina, received all of their Sacraments from All Saints Parish and his two oldest are Altar Servers.  Italo is an active 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a core member of the men's fellowship ministry, and is involved in both church and community volunteer activities.  

Brandon Trichel-member: 

Brandon and his wife Kimberly moved to the valley in 2001 and have been part of the parish for 4 years now.  They have four little girls Chloe, Hannah, Lily and Emma.  Brandon has been part of the Council for a couple years and his main concentration is to increase spirituality for families.  He has helped form the men's fellowship ministry which meet on Saturday mornings and is also very involved in volunteer activities both in the church and in the community.  He loves meeting new parishioners, especially families and looks forward to meeting you if you ever want to say hi.
